Dr. Krishan Chugh is a highly esteemed pediatrician in Asia, renowned for his expertise in pediatric pulmonology and allergy. With a distinguished career spanning several decades, Dr. Chugh has made significant contributions to the field of pediatrics and neonatology.

One of his pioneering achievements was the introduction of pediatric bronchoscopy and interventional bronchoscopy for children in India. He organizes an annual workshop on pediatric bronchoscopy at FMRI, demonstrating his commitment to advancing medical education and knowledge sharing.

Dr. Chugh's dedication to pediatric care led to the establishment of the first Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) in the country at Kalawati Saran Children Hospital, Lady Harding Medical College, New Delhi, in 1982. Later, when he joined Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, he set up the first private sector PICU in India. Currently, he heads the PICU at FMRI.

Dr. Chugh is highly regarded for his teaching and mentorship of young pediatricians. Many of his trainees have gone on to successfully manage PICUs in various cities and towns. He is frequently sought after by the media for his expert opinions on child health topics, including issues related to pollution, dengue, and swine flu.

His academic excellence is reflected in his editorial roles in prestigious pediatric journals and his extensive contributions to scientific publications. Dr. Chugh's leadership extends to various workshops, courses, and conferences in pediatric medicine. Presently, he serves as the Dean of the Indian College of Pediatrics and the Chancellor of the College of Pediatric Critical Care.
